PlayForever Court Now Open

June of 2019 marked a month of excitement within Crescent Village Housing (CVH) as well as the Richmond Hill community as a whole.

Secured with enormous funding and grants from Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), the city of Richmond Hill, as well as cooperation from CVH — Play Forever worked towards building a cutting-edge, multi-purpose outdoor basketball and volleyball court, as well as brand-new park benches, bleachers and a modernized fitness park.

The court was superbly equipped with a surrounding cage, high-quality paved cement, numerous on-court logos, a large steel bleacher seating arrangement, contemporary volleyball net, and state-of-the-art, indoor-style basketball nets.

Play Forever Court is the first of its kind for any social housing providers in the province of Ontario.

Since its inception, the Play Forever court has acted as a hub of physical exercise and social engagement, as the court splits functions between the sports of both basketball and volleyball.

Play Forever Court fully embodies the organizational goals and objectives of Play Forever — providing structured and accessible services to the youth of the Greater Toronto Area.

One could even argue the establishment of this court exceeds the goals and objectives of Play Forever, as it was designed for individuals of all age groups, gender and backgrounds to collectively enjoy the fruits of its labour.

Play Forever Court stands as one of the organization’s largest success stories, and will positively serve the community for the future and beyond.
